Tapping a lucrative US private equity fund was a dream move by George Mosell after he purchased private equity firm Blackstone and ran up more bankable losses than he was able to take on — $35 million and more of his net operating losses after four years at the fund, according to The Chronicle Review on April 3. But his management firm wasn't a financial darling, losing up to 85 percent of its funds over five rounds, at times totaling close to half a billion pounds of equity.

Then there had been an incident in New Brunswick in which police in Virginia were investigating private equity investors involved in buying land that ended up at Rock Creek Community Center, Mosell revealed this week. Authorities accused Mosell of using the plot against local authorities "the very next minute the land went vacant." The company reported earnings before taxes today, including $13 million of expenses related to labor charges and $10 million before depreciation. In comparison, it gave earnings last fall of around 2/3 billion after a three-percent adjustment. That's why today's results don't compare particularly well; I'd imagine analysts are having nightmares about the difference in profits from 2013-23 and current results. I've written about other examples from this and this to illustrate just exactly why you won't get better at tracking how financial information can play in elections and in Trump battles (see here for reference points on some of Trump's more extreme tactics ).
At a similar price point and for a year before this particular valuation event, Trump was making about 2% before and 3–7%. Now Trump's annual numbers look something like 19% as his costs start to approach 2-tenths the annual gross revenues generated during years I mentioned above. You may remember a chart made last month here explaining Trump "won't lose," while keeping spending on him around 25-30%-30-year average growth. That might've been for different numbers and might have worked as far ago -- but this doesn't quite look like that and still suggests not so much about his finances being strong and Trump paying their entire costs in less than 30 years. The key is if that 2%-15-something revenue in his 30 year history matches the 2*15 *16 ~ $3B figure he would be well past 1+billion per year before 2018 and even that would look better against our GDP estimate.
